An attractive working environment inspires a positive work culture, productivity, and sense of well-being. Byron Owner of Makon Projects wanted a space that reflected his love of the west coast. He wanted a young, cool but professional space to showcase Makon Projects quality of workmanship and preferred aesthetic.

In this case we had we had 1400 SF of undeveloped commercial space to reinvent; primed white walls, unfinished concrete floors, and the beginnings of an h.vac system was all we had to work with. There’s nothing we like more than a blank slate to reinvent, mold and shape into something special. We worked with raw natural materials, fir, polished concrete, plaster and Vancouver Island Marble; colours all reminiscent of the coastlines and forests on Vancouver Island. Curved walls, large scale lighting and textural wall treatments create impact and mimic what we see in nature.

The outcome is unexpected and refreshing for a construction office. Byron and staff enjoy their new environment full of productive energy, the click of computer keys, sounds of collaboration and greetings from office dog Hugo.
