alana Dick Founder & Interior Designer
My career began focused on commercial design in 2001, with early projects spanning corporate, restaurant, and hospitality spaces. The commercial world is where I learned and practiced technical drawing, drafting, and construction. In the years following I developed a persistent desire to expand my portfolio and branched into residential design and creative director roles. Now with my career 25 years underway, I know that my work is forever evolving, thanks to the curiosity and desire to grow that hasn't slowed down.

the clients who hire us :
the visionary
It’s my job to be the trained eye that sees your vision through a workable lens. I catch the glint of a gem buried in those “cool but weird”, “hear me out” concepts and try them anyway, just to see what colour stone shines through. Your ideas, plus some added expertise - scrolling through Ivory Design’s portfolio, you’ll see this equation adds up to something completely unique for every project.
the busy professonal
You have great taste but lack the time, means, or technical ability to implement it. When it comes to aesthetics your view is crystal clear, but it gets blurrier with every building code, bylaw, or floorplan you never learned how to read. That’s where Ivory Design thrives, beyond DIY; I view every empty space as a composition of all these details and more, and I’m there to dedicate the hours you don’t have to filling those spaces.
the first time builder
Elements of an interior renovation or build such as the construction process can be intimidating, especially if you’re working on your first project. Ivory Design follows every step closely to ensure the design is accurately produced by trades and contractors. It’s my job to translate the technical language from the labour process back to you in a way that’s approachable and reassuring.
the inspired indicisive
When you’re trying to balance your dreams for the space with deciphering what’s actually doable, decision fatigue becomes very real. Taking on this responsibility for you and creating a functional backdrop to your everyday life, I write you into the environment from my very first draft. Your favourite colour, heirloom trinkets, a special corner your pet will love to nap. When my design reflects who you are, standing in the finished space you’ll always look right at home.
